NOTES: Tracks marked * are duets by J.L. Lewis and Charlie Rich with no Orion involvement.
Issued on gold vinyl.
First issued on an unusual label design very similar to the labels seen on 45rpm single releases.
Also shown is a different release of the album with the same cover but the more recognisable full Sun design on labels. This version also issued in versions with and without year of release printed on the labels.

NOTES: Above is the RCA Record Club release with same cover but without the Gold Vinyl logo and different catalogue number (R123583. Although label also gives original catalogue number). Black vinyl.

NOTE: Above is shown the USA mail order version of the DUETS album with same catalogue number as standard U.S. release but on black vinyl, no gold label logo on cover and has the catalogue number printed twice on each label side.

NOTE: Above is regular version of the TRIO+ album.

NOTE: Above, cover and label of TRIO+ mail order version with same catalogue number as standard USA release but on black vinyl, no gold label logo on cover, the album title is written on the sunburst and has the catalogue number printed twice on each label side. The print along the bottom of back sleeve offering a record catalogue and the lifetime guarantee is missing. Also the red sleeve colour on this version is slightly darker than on the original release.

NOTES: Issued on gold vinyl.
Included an 8" by 10" colour photo of Orion.
Following complaints that it was in bad taste, the front cover of this release was withdrawn and replaced with a blue cover featuring a masked photo of Orion. Both issues of cover shown.
Issued with two label variations. Second design shown above seems to be the first issue.
Back cover of the original "coffin" cover and later "blue" version are basically the same.
The original working title for this album was TRAGEDY and featured a totally different song line-up:
Honey; Billy And Sue; Last Kiss; Long Black Limousine; Teen Angel; Endless Sleep; Patches; Tell Laura I Love Her; Tragedy; Ebony Eyes; Rocky. The probability is that the album was intended for release under the name Jimmy Ellis but the emergence of the Orion book and persona led to this being totally dropped.
However it was decided that the overall theme of the album may prove too depressing and affect sales. With the exception of both Honey and Ebony Eyes the majority of the tracks would remain unreleased on record until their inclusion in the four disc box set WHO WAS THAT MASKED MAN? from Germany's Bear Family Records. Several tracks would however turn up on the little known cassette set ROCK'N'ROLL SIX PACK released by Roller Skate Records.
First album released under the name of "Orion".
NOTES: Above shown are front/back covers and label from "Blue" cover of REBORN album.
Also shown is a different version of the album with the same cover but different style of labels. Very similar to the labels seen on 45rpm single releases.
A third set of label variations with Side 1 and Side 2 shown on labels can also be seen above.
Also shown is 8" X 10" colour photo given away with the REBORN album.
Above: The REBORN album but in black vinyl. A rare release, difficult to track down and appears to be a Mail Order only version. Labels state Sides A and B while other versions of this album do NOT state sides. Also type fonts used on labels are different from standard releases.
NOTES: Issued on gold vinyl. Label states "Exclusivley On Sun From The Beginning". Note the mis-spelling of the first word.
Two label variations found, the second of which corrects the spelling error and gives label sides.
This was the first Sun album to  feature the ® symbol against the Orion logo indicating it was a registered trademark. The owner of a registered trademark may commence legal proceedings for trademark infringement to prevent unauthorized use of that trademark. However, registration is not required. The owner of a common law trademark (TM) may also file suit, but an unregistered mark may be protectable only within the geographical area within which it has been used or in geographical areas into which it may be reasonably expected to expand.

NOTE: Issued on gold vinyl.

NOTES: Issued on gold vinyl.
Memphis Sun featured on the soundtrack of the 1996 TV movie BACK TO BACK - AMERICAN YAKUZA 2 along with Some You Win, Some You Lose, Rainbow Maker and Ain't No Good.
Reportedly also issued on RCA's record club label with different catalogue numbers and on black vinyl.

NOTES: Issued on gold vinyl.
The CD release BECAUSE HE LIVES (Stargem SGEJG-002) features later recordings of the songs Just A Closer Walk With Thee and Peace In The Valley.
The song I Surrender all was featured on the soundtrack of the movie DANGEROUS OBSESSION.
Apparently the finished album should have featured overdubbing from Elvis' legendary backing vocalists The Jordanaires but these were omitted due to financial restraints.
NOTES: Issued on gold vinyl.
Ain't No Good, Some You Win, Some You Lose and Rainbow Maker featured on the soundtrack of the 1996 TV movie BACK TO BACK - AMERICAN YAKUZA 2 along with "Memphis Sun" from the ROCKABILLY album.
Apparently Shelby Singleton often featured contests where the fans could choose which LP tracks were to be issued as a single release. For this album's contest the lucky winner could walk away with a jacket.

NOTES: The entire concept of this album gives the impression it was a rush released product hurriedly thrown together.
This was the only original Sun album by Orion NOT issued on gold vinyl.
It was standard practice at the time of this album's release for an LP to contain ten tracks, as on previous Orion albums, this release however contains only eight songs and ALL of these eight songs had previously been issued on the TV advertised album ORION 20 ALL TIME FAVORITES from Suffolk Marketing.
On the USAF interview disc Jimmy refers to the release as "a shortened album".
The version released in Holland includes two additional tracks.

SPECIAL NOTE: A further Sun album titled SURPRISE (SUN 1029) was planned for release in 1982 but was cancelled before release.
The album was known to have contained the following tracks:
Honky Tonk Heaven; Morning, Noon And Night; Strangers T'il We Touch; Midnight Rendezvous; Night Of The Rain; Devil In My Angel; Two Loving Shadows; This Is A Hold-Up; Whatever It Takes.
Cover was rumoured to feature picture of Orion without his mask, possibly on back sleeve.
The SURPRISE album in an expanded form finally saw the light of day in 2024 from the team behind Orion's releases from Norway with special permission from
Sun Records in the USA.

All of Orion's Sun releases came in stiff cardboard covers with an inside sleeve as shown depicting Sun albums by other artists.
SUN RECORDS
THE BIRTHPLACE OF ORION

Several fans have reported some gold vinyl albums appearing to be more of an orange shade to the vinyl. These would appear to be due to manufacturing errors. Shading has also been noticed on several vinyl singles. Similarly, some albums, notably ROCKABILLY and SUNRISE have darker ink on the labels on some copies.
